Easy install. I purchase the textured covers. So no paint required for my installation. Would recommend to anyone looking to improve truck appearance.
Living in Chicago the winters here had my 12th gen F150 rocker panels looking AWFUL. Searching for a solution online I ran across these Quick Covers. And so glad I did.. They exceeded my expectations and more. No complaints at all.. I highly recommend these Quick Covers to anyone. Don't let the price of these covers make you have second thoughts. Trust me as soon as you finish installing them all thoughts or regrets would be forgotten.. Awesome product!!!
Thanks to you guys for coming up with these Quick Covers. (5 Stars for sure)
I installed the covers over two afternoons including grinding away all the old rust, converting it, spraying the cavity wax and greasing the remaining open metal. They came with simple, clear directions and fit like a glove. If you can handle typical vehicle repairs and have a long, sunny day (or two taking your time) you can get it all done quick with very nice results. I've already had one friend mention they look like they could have been factory.
My only problem was with drilling through the remaining rocker weld seam. Even rusty and thinner in places I broke 7 good bits drilling the 30 rivet holes. Also, take care to disassemble your mudflaps from the fender if possible and clean/wax/grease in there. I found 6" of dirt and debris surely trapping water on both sides. Personally, I expected them to be a little thicker/more robust, but their function is as "covers" not armor, and they must be flexible to install. If the rocker isnt completely blown out with no structure, your results will be good. If your rockers are basically swiss cheese, can be crushed by your fingers, or are already gone I would probably suggest to get metal bodywork done. I also caulked the top seams of the cab corner and the front edge where it goes under from the door, but doesnt seem necessary if your trim tape work is good. Just piece of mind for me, and Im never fixing them again (lol)
If anyone asks I would definitely recommend this product and would buy them again.
Thanks for making such an affordable, well-designed product.
